Homes with RV garages

Bachman Custom Homes builds custom homes with RV garages across the Treasure Valley, and most of our floor plans already include an RV bay. On our current plans the bays run from about 40 feet deep on The Samantha to 60 feet on The Welles 2.0, and we size yours around your RV and your lot.

01 / BUILT FOR IDAHO

Room for the RV,
the boat and the shop.

Life in the Treasure Valley pulls people outdoors: Lake Lowell sits close to Lone Star Ranch in Nampa, and the mountains around Garden Valley are an easy weekend away. That is why an RV bay shows up on most of our plans, and why we also build large residential shops.

Buyers moving to Idaho ask for it too. Caven Bradner, a Boise-area realtor who films home tours, called RV bays "something many relocating buyers specifically look for in the Boise area."

Every Bachman garage starts finished and insulated, with insulated metal overhead doors and openers as standard.

03 / AWARD-WINNING

Two Parade homes
with RV bays.

The Cody won Best Overall at the 2026 Snake River Valley Parade of Homes and swept all six judged awards in its category. It sits on a one-acre lot in Lone Star Ranch with a heated pool, a private pickleball court and an RV bay of about 54 feet.

The Jane earned 2nd Place People's Choice and the Primary Bedroom award in its category at the 2026 Spring Boise Parade of Homes. It proves an RV bay fits on a single-level home on just over a third of an acre in Terra View, Eagle.

04 / PLANNING YOUR BAY

What we plan for when
you add an RV garage.

An RV bay is a specialty space, and we settle it when we finalize your floor plan. These are the questions we work through together:

  • The length, height and width of your RV, trailer or boat, with room to walk around it.
  • Door height and width, and whether a drive-through bay makes sense on your lot.
  • The driveway approach and turning room, especially on corner and cul-de-sac lots.
  • Subdivision CC&Rs and city or county rules on RV garages, shops and outbuildings.
  • Where you want power, water and storage inside the bay.
  • Finishes such as epoxy floors, like the 60-foot RV bay in our Lone Star Ranch home on the Welles plan.

05 / LOTS WITH ROOM

Lots that suit
an RV garage.

Acreage makes an RV bay easy. Lone Star Ranch in Nampa is laid out in one-acre homesites, and Weatherby Estates in Nampa allowed outbuildings and workshops on its one-acre lots. We build across Nampa, Star, Kuna and the rest of the valley, and we are glad to look at RV access with you before you commit to a lot.

Every RV garage home follows our 10-step process, from budget to move-in. To size a bay for your rig, contact Bachman Custom Homes or call 208-577-8794.

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

Frequently asked
questions.

How big does an RV garage need to be?

It depends on your RV, so we start with its length, height and width plus room to walk around it. On our current plans, RV bays range from 14 by 39.5 feet on The Samantha to 19 by 60 feet on The Welles 2.0, and The Jane's bay is 20 by 45 feet.

Can I add an RV garage to any floor plan?

Most of our plans already include an RV bay. For plans that do not, we can often add one during design, depending on your lot's width, setbacks and the subdivision's rules. We confirm what fits when we finalize your floor plan, before the build contract is signed.

Do RV garage homes need a bigger lot?

Usually, yes. An RV bay needs extra garage depth plus a driveway wide enough to swing a long vehicle in. One-acre lots, like those in Lone Star Ranch in Nampa, make that easy. On smaller lots we look closely at the approach, which is how The Jane fits a 45-foot bay on about a third of an acre.

Do you build shops as well as RV bays?

Yes. We build large residential shops as well as attached RV bays. The Darrell plan pairs an RV bay with a separate 19'7" by 32' shop, and we have built a house and shop together in Garden Valley. Tell us what you need to store and work on, and we will plan the space around it.

Are RV garages allowed in every subdivision?

Not always. Subdivision CC&Rs and city or county rules can limit garage height, outbuildings and RV parking. Check the rules before you buy a lot, or bring the listing to us first. When you build on one of our lots, we already know what the subdivision allows.
