South Fork Landing sits where the South Fork of the Payette River meets ponds, meadows and forest. Marketing for the community describes about 3.8 miles of protected river frontage, nearly half the land kept as open space or under conservation easements, a river walking trail, stocked ponds and trails for hiking, biking and riding.

The South Fork Payette is managed by the BLM and the Boise National Forest, with day-use river sites near Garden Valley for rafting and fishing. We love it up here. As we posted in 2025, "Garden Valley, ID. We never want to leave. Love our mountain homes."
