01 / OUR KUNA ROOTS

Kuna is where
we started.

Bachman Custom Homes has deeper roots in Kuna than anywhere else. Our corporation, Absolute Construction & Consulting, Inc., listed Kuna as its address from 2018 until we moved the office to Nampa at the end of 2020. Before that, Bob spent about 15 years with the City of Kuna, from building inspector to Public Works Director, responsible for the city's infrastructure, and brings nearly three decades in construction to every build.

That background shows up on every job site. Bob has stood on the other side of the inspection, so he builds with the inspector's checklist already in mind. Lisa served on the Kuna City Council and, as a planner with J-U-B Engineers, led Kuna's 2015 Downtown Revitalization Plan. Between them, they know Kuna's codes, roads, irrigation and growth plans firsthand. Our commercial work in town includes the tenant improvement for Enrique's Mexican Restaurant.

02 / WHY KUNA

Why build a custom
home in Kuna.

Kuna is growing quickly but still feels like a farm town at the edges. COMPASS estimated 33,750 residents in 2025, and its April 2026 release said Kuna grew about 14 percent in a single year. The Boise Airport is about 19 miles and 25 minutes away, and Kuna Joint School District No. 3 serves local families.

South of town is one of Idaho's great open spaces: the Morley Nelson Snake River Birds of Prey National Conservation Area, about 485,000 acres along 81 miles of the Snake River, which the Bureau of Land Management calls home to the densest population of nesting birds of prey in North America. Closer in, Kuna's parks and Farmers Alley Market bring people downtown.

What draws our clients is land. Kuna still has acreage, which means room for a shop, horses, an RV bay or simply distance from the neighbors. If you own a parcel, we can build on your lot, including wells, septic and irrigation. If you don't, tell us what you want; that is exactly how one of our Kuna families found their land.

03 / OUR WORK

Homes we've built in
and near Kuna.

In May 2026 we completed a custom home on a 10-acre property in Kuna, with custom finishes throughout. The family met Bob at one of our homes, and through our connection to the owner we were able to show them an off-market 10-acre lot within a couple of weeks. About 11 months later, they were living there.

For land near Kuna, ask us about current lots, or build on your lot if you already own one. A short drive west, our one-acre homes in Weatherby Estates in south Nampa, including The Welles and The Jax 2.0, show the kind of country-feel acreage home many Kuna buyers want. Browse our floor plans for a starting point.

“11 months later we're currently living on that property!! The process was wild and they made it so easy for us. The finish product is nothing short of Amazing.”

04 / PROCESS AND COST

How a Kuna build works
and what it costs.

We follow the same ten steps on every home, from budget and first meeting through permits, construction, design appointments and final walkthrough. On acreage, we add site planning early: access, well, septic, power and irrigation. Read the details in our building process. Typical build time is 6 to 8 months once construction starts.

Costs vary widely with land, site work, size and finishes, and a 10-acre parcel carries different costs than a subdivision lot. For one reference point, our award-winning Cody in Nampa was listed at $2,850,000 for 5,296 sq ft on a one-acre lot. The 2027 Cost-to-Build Guide helps you plan land and home together.

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

Frequently asked
questions.

How much does it cost per square foot to build in Kuna?

It depends on the land and the home. Acreage can add well, septic, power and driveway costs, and finishes change the price more than most people expect. We price from your plan and lot. Our 2027 Cost-to-Build Guide shows each budget line.

How long does it take to build a custom home in Kuna?

Our typical build time is 6 to 8 months once construction starts. Before that, allow time for design, site planning and permits. One of our Kuna families went from first meeting to living on their 10-acre property in about 11 months, land search included.

Can you help me find land for sale in Kuna, Idaho?

Yes. We build on client-owned land and help clients find it. Through our local connections, we found one Kuna family an off-market 10-acre lot within a couple of weeks. Tell us what you need, and read build on your lot before you buy.

What's the difference between a production builder and a custom builder in Kuna?

Production builders sell a set of plans in their own subdivisions, with limited changes. A custom builder designs around you and your land: layout, finishes, shop, RV bay, acreage. We do most framing, electrical, siding, masonry and finish work in-house to control quality.

Is it cheaper to build or buy a home in Kuna in 2026?

Buying resale can cost less up front. Building gets you the land, layout and systems you want, and acreage homes that fit your needs are rarely on the market. Many Kuna clients decide that getting it right is worth the added cost.

How do I choose a custom home builder in Kuna?

Ask about local experience, who does the work and what past clients say. Bob spent about 15 years with the City of Kuna, ending as Public Works Director, and our Google reviews include a Kuna family on 10 acres. Call 208-577-8794 to talk it through.
