The Bachman Custom Homes design studio is how your finishes come together. During construction you meet with our design team for about 2 to 3 days of interior design appointments to choose appliances, cabinets, countertops, tile, doors, flooring, plumbing and lighting. one guided process.

A custom home has hundreds of finish decisions, and finding them on your own can mean weeks of driving between showrooms and scrolling late at night. We bring the choices to one table and sit down with you to make them, in order, with the plan and your budget in front of us.

The appointments happen during construction, after your floor plan is final and the build contract is signed, so every choice lands on a home that is already taking shape. It is step 7 of our building process, and the design and architecture work that comes before it sets the layout those finishes live in.

Lisa Bachman loves "hand selecting every finish with our clients," in her words, and around here she is known for finding the coolest cabinet handles and light fixtures. She works with designer Destiny Eldred through our own company, LD Luxury Staging & Design, which can also take a home all the way to furniture, décor and staging if you want it finished down to the last pillow.

Their work shows in our Parade homes. LD Luxury Staging & Design designed and furnished The Cody, which won Best Overall at the 2026 Snake River Valley Parade of Homes and swept all six judged awards in its category, Interior Design and Best Decorated among them. They also designed The Jane, which earned 2nd Place People's Choice at the 2026 Spring Boise Parade of Homes. Meet everyone on our team page.

    Start with how you live

    We meet, talk about how you cook, host and unwind, and look at your lot or one of ours.

    Finalize the floor plan

    Room sizes, specialty spaces, storage and outdoor living are set before the build contract.

  3. 03

    Design appointments

    During construction, about 2 to 3 days to choose every finish with our design team.

  4. 04

    Walkthroughs

    Optional walkthroughs after framing for electrical, plumbing, finish work and landscaping.

  5. 05

    Furnish and stage

    Optional furniture and décor packages, or a turnkey furnished home, through LD Luxury Staging & Design.

questions.

How long do design selections take?

Interior design appointments take approximately 2 to 3 days in total and happen during construction. In them you choose appliances, cabinets, countertops, tile, doors, flooring, plumbing and lighting fixtures with our design team. Trying a palette in the Design Studio first, or bringing photos, makes the time go further.

Can I make my own selections on one of your plans?

Yes. Even on a to-be-built home with a designed plan, buyers make their own selections. You can start from one of our 20 floor plans or a plan of your own, and the finishes are chosen with you in the design appointments, not picked for you in advance.

Are the finishes in the Design Studio the exact products you install?

No. The Design Studio shows example finishes on real rooms we built, as concept renders made by an image model, not final designs. Real samples, product options and pricing come with your design appointments during construction.

Do you offer furniture and staging?

Yes. Through LD Luxury Staging & Design we offer full home design, furniture and décor packages, or turnkey furnishing and staging. It is optional, and it is how our 2026 Parade homes, The Jane and The Cody, were furnished.
