EMMETT · GEM COUNTYWhy build a custom
home in Emmett.
Emmett is the county seat of Gem County and the heart of what locals call the Valley of Plenty. Settlers began planting fruit trees in the 1860s, irrigating with Payette River water, and by 1940 Emmett was the largest shipping point in Idaho for sweet cherries. The Emmett Cherry Festival, which started in 1928, still fills Emmett City Park every June, and the Emmett Farmers Market keeps the orchard tradition going.
It is a small town by Treasure Valley standards. The 2020 Census counted 7,647 people in Emmett and 19,123 in all of Gem County. Highway 16 runs south over the hill to Eagle and Star, and the Boise Airport is about 36 miles and 45 minutes away. Emmett Independent School District serves local families.
That mix is why our clients look here: real acreage and valley views, a short drive from Eagle's shops and the rest of the Treasure Valley, without the price of foothill land closer to Boise.
